There is just so much to eat in this area but Nick's just happened to catch my eye. It seemed quick and fresh, so I thought I'd give it a try.
So I walked in around 3pm on a Friday. The space is pretty empty with seating along both walls. Half of the restaurant space is taken up by the prep/kitchen area, which patrons have a clear view of. They must have just put the food out when I arrived because it was just glistening.
Their menu is pretty standard. At first glance it doesn't seem like they have all the sides mentioned, but if you ask they're all there. I ordered the leg dinner with collard greens and macaroni and cheese. All dinners come with 2 sides and a cornbread muffin.
The leg quarter was nice and juicy; flavored through and through. The sides were good as well. Like I said, I must've gotten the good end of the stick because MY mac and cheese was amazing! It was cheesy and full of flavor; the opposite of all the reviews before me (so I guess it's a hit or miss). If it's not smiling at you when you walk in, leave it alone.
I'd definitely give this spot another try. -

The design and layout needs improvement. Customer service needs to have a little more sophistication in their explanation of the items on the menu. What is a square fish sandwich? The response was "square fish". Lol, I'm like is it made with Haddock, catfish, whiting.... I received a blank stare in response....
The macaroni and cheese in the warmer, looked like it was three days old. It was not appealing. The chicken looked amazing and tasted amazing. But the corn on cob, was just regular degular. I had the thigh meal with fries and corn. The portions were tiny and unnecessary.
The corn muffin is also delicious which helped boost the rating to a three star. -

Very solid place to eat. The chicken is excellent and the sides are so tasty. Everything is loaded with flavor. It appears to be carry out only and everything is prepared and ready to be dispensed into to go containers.

Chicken is always a hit whenever I come here. Sides are ok and could be worked on. Mac and cheese was little dry not cheesy enough for me. Green beans tasted like they came out the can.Last visit I had the yams and cabbage. Cabbage was a but sweet for my preference and tasted very rich in butter. Yams were good..had nice sweet buttery taste. Chicken leg quarter as always...BANGING!! I can come here and just ear chicken all day long. 4 stars bcus customer service is always good and the chicken is on point. I might have to come up with a mock recipe Hmmmmmmmm

I would give it 5 stars but they do not accept credit cards / or any other form of payment besides cash . Lol This small eatery located in pigtown is a gem . The orange doors / store front does make you question what inside . The rotisserie chicken is by far one of the best I have tried . Amazing flavor , juicy , moist , and fresh . They have several sides fang accompany it that you can choose from my personal fav is cabbage and macaroni. Highly recommend you won't be disappointed.
